Economic Value of Soil Health 1-Pager.pdf
This fact sheet was designed for policymakers and other stakeholders and illustrates that while producers face rising financial pressures and increasing reliance on subsidies such as crop insurance, a growing body of evidence suggests soil health practices can reduce risk of crop yield loss, lower taxpayer-subsidized crop insurance indemnity payouts, and improve the bottom line. It draws on research from Land Core’s FFAR-funded Risk Model Project, as well as from USDA, Farm Bureau, University of Illinois, and others.
